One of my areas of expertise is couples counselling. Over a long period of time I have worked with many couples to achieve the best outcome for each individual and their relationship. My job as a licensed therapist is to work together to empower you to determine how you can repair your relationship and solve your conflicts, or if the relationship is unhealthy and damaging, how to exit from that. I am interested in teaching couples, the skills they need to thrive as a couple and provide them with learning objectives to practice between sessions. In this journey with couples, I try to shine a light in the dark corners of their life, so they can discover their own strengths, their strategies, and solutions for managing and resolving issues in their life. As a counsellor I try to empower couples to find their options and support them to make their own decision that enables them to live their best life.
Telehealth counselling eliminates the need to travel to a therapist’s office, making it a more accessible option for everyone. Traditional in-person therapy sessions typically require a person to take time off work or school to attend the session. With telehealth therapy, patients can schedule sessions during their lunch breaks without having to step out of their comfort zone. This flexibility allows people to prioritise their mental health while still meeting their other obligations.
Another great bonus to this type of counselling is that it can help to reduce the stigma surrounding mental health. For many people, seeking counselling is seen as a sign of weakness or a lack of resilience. Online therapy can help to reduce this stigma by providing a more discreet and private way to access mental health services.
Overall, due to the greater ease and convenience this form of counselling provides, clients can feel more at ease during therapy. This, in turn, can make it easier to speak openly and get the most out of their experience with the counsellor.
